Rest. Renew. Ride On.

We hope to give every immediate family member and/or primary caregiver a chance to step away from the stress of serious illness and spend meaningful time together. We believe that even one week of peace, rest, and connection can provide families with renewed hope and strength for the road ahead.

If your respite application is approved, you will be paired with a dedicated Respite Coordinator who will help personalize every detail of your week away. From lodging to activities, we work to make the experience as stress-free as possible at absolutely no cost to your family.

The Giknis Family

THE GIKNIS FAMILY, “We can’t express how meaningful our last week together has been. With everything we navigated this year, a family vacation was completely off the table for all of the logistical and financial reasons, and we really couldn’t have known how much we needed the time and space for connection, play, and rest until we were in it. Our accommodations in Ocean City were perfect, and the foundation’s generosity enabled us to say “yes” to our kids who have heard “I’m sorry, we can’t” an awful lot lately. It was so special, and our memories of this trip mean the world to us. Our hearts are so full. Thank you for all you do. This is an incredible gift that we will never forget.”

The Marinos Family

THE MARINOS FAMILY, A Week Away was an unexpected and beautiful gift to our family. It was something we didn’t even realize we needed.  It was a true moment of respite. But the reality continues …medical bills, medications, appointments, and labs are all part of our daily life now. We’ve accepted that T…. will always have to be cautious to protect his precious new lungs and kidney. But for one beautiful week, we got to just breathe. *A Week Away gave us the space to rest, laugh, and reconnect.* Our biggest concern that week was when the sun would rise, or whether we should play mini golf before or after ice cream. The simple joys became everything. You gave us a peaceful home in the perfect location, where Tasos could enjoy 15 precious minutes in the sun. The timing, the weather, and the quiet, preseason calm created the perfect conditions for healing, not just for his body, but for our hearts. The week was simple and beautiful, and it meant more than we can ever express. *Thank you for this incredible gift.* Thank you for reminding us what it feels like to just be together without worry, without noise. We will carry these memories with us always. With heartfelt gratitude.
