“We never could have done it without you.” - The Gordon Family

Our mission is to finance and coordinate respite weeks—enabling our families to find the peace and energy they need to continue their fight.

The Schaefer Family

THE SCHAEFER FAMILY, “We had an amazing time as a family. Made good family memories and relaxed. We came home feeling relaxed and ready for life – real life. Thank you for everything. We were able to build memories as a family. That’s what our boys will remember – not the hospital visits or the pin-pricks.”

The Minder Family

THE MINDER FAMILY, we just got home today from our week-long Respite in the mountains, and we are so grateful. We had an amazing time having campfires, feeding deer, fishing, swimming, and taking the boat out on the lake. We made memories with our children in this beautiful place, and it was magic! Thank you so much from the bottom of our hearts.

The Lynch Family

THE LYNCH FAMILY, “It felt so nice to just be a “normal” family. Apart from Livvy’s bald head, no one knew there was anything different about us & we liked it that way!!

Caleb Walker

Caleb Walker, the Founder of the A Week Away Foundation, believed firmly and would always say “that he was blessed to have the best support network in the world”. He had the hope that one day he would be cancer-free, because he was carried through the hard times by those around him. This battle had taken its toll on his entire team, and he took note. He saw what Cancer and other life-threatening illnesses can do to families. The burden of battling a life-threatening diagnosis does not fall solely on the shoulders of the patient but on the caregivers and loved ones as well. In starting A Week Away, he wanted to pay it forward and to give every immediate family member and/or primary caregiver a week of peace in their chaotic world. We believe that by giving families even just one week of peace together they can return home with the hope they need to continue their fight.

Eric McComsey

ERIC McCOMSEY, I spent several sunny afternoons, after my walk up and down the streets or out to the beach, I’d have quiet time on the deck. Let the warm sun hit my face, just taking in the quietness and listening to God speak to my heart.
